Lemonade Hands

(You’re going to love your hands after this treatment!)
Excerpted from Natural Hand Care by Norma P. Weinberg

This is a simple recipe that offers great results in improving the smoothness of your skin. In the countryside of Chile, real sugar cane is utilized along with the lemon juice as a mild exfoliant.

Ingredients:
1 Tablespoon (15 ml) granulated sugar
Fresh lemon juice to make a paste

To Prepare:
1. Thoroughly wash hands and pat dry.
2. Squeeze the juice from one lemon or have ready, commercially prepared, real lemon juice.
3. Pour about 1 Tablespoon of granulated sugar in the palm of one hand.
4. Sparingly, add enough lemon juice to the sugar to make a paste.

To use:
1. Rub your hands together in a rotary pattern, either clockwise or counterclockwise. At first, the sensation will be one of a gritty surface.
2. Continue gently rubbing. Work the gritty paste up and over each finger, cuticles, and over the back of each hand. The heat of your hands will melt the sugar and it will appear as a shiny glaze.
3. Leave the lemon/sugar glaze on your hands for about 5 minutes.
Take it easy, rest!
4. Rinse with warm water. Pat your hands totally dry with a paper towel.
5. Apply a light natural hand cream. Feel the difference!
